Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. - TopicsExpress

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:3) We all want our plans to be established, our goals achieved and our desires fulfilled. How can that happen? This verse says we must commit our work to The Lord. This means that He should be the source of our work, the course of our work and the force of our work. He should be the source in the sense that He should initiate it in our hearts. Whether it is church ministry work or secular work, love for Him should be our motivator. We should do all our work as unto The Lord. Whether we are preaching a sermon or sweeping a street, we should do it as if Jesus were our immediate supervisor. He should be the course of our work. Our task from beginning to end should be for His glory. He also, should be the force, the energy by which we fulfill our tasks. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. He provides the energy to accomplish the works He has ordained for us to do. We do get weary. We get tired. He is the One who says He will give us rest if we come to Him. If we commit our works to Him in this way, He will fulfill our plans. Prayer: Father, give us work to do and strength to do it. Thus, establish our plans. Amen.
