“Common Sense Approach to CHRISTianity” by Pastor Nohwoter ~ - TopicsExpress

“Common Sense Approach to CHRISTianity” by Pastor Nohwoter ~ June 2013 What “Law” are you living under? Have you ever been told or taught that the Old Testament Laws are no longer valid? Do you think you are not bound by the same laws as the people in the Old Testament? GODs WORD points in a different direction? We are definitely held accountable under the exact same standards and laws as of the people in the Old Testament. Ive recently been enlightened by the HOLY GHOST on this subject, and HE wants you to know that now is the time. The time to change how we view the Law in the Old and New Testaments! This message does not require the combining of a lot of different SCRIPTURES (which may not have even been written in the same context) to create a new teaching. This lesson is not something new, it is something JESUS HIMSELF taught. Apparently mankind has always been troubled by the Old Testament Law. JESUS makes the Law clear and concise by using four (4) simple sentences recorded in red and we see it is the same Law for both the Old and New Testaments. This has been and is difficult to write and even harder to share, due to the amount on criticism I will receive by all. However, the HOLY GHOST which resides in me assures me of the authenticity of HIS source and is pursuing me to write and share this true message concerning GODs Law. GOD, through the HOLY GHOST has awaken me to a fact that has been staring everyone right in the face for many generations. HE has called me to alert the world that the New Testament Law and the Old Testament Law are the same Law … GOD has never changed nor HIS Law. Why have we been taught GOD changed? When GOD is the same today as HE was in the beginning of time. Would it be because we might be a little insecure? We are scared to admit the truth because it might discredit GODs influence in portions of the Bible and this will require us to change the way we view GODs book? Could the truth be that some laws written were merely mans attempt to please GOD and to merge their own culture in with what they thought GOD wanted. Remember all Scripture was and is inspired by GOD. Could GOD have allowed these man written laws to remain in along with HIS Holy Scriptures as a history lesson in Christianity. Lessons to inspire mankind not to do as they did and not to write a bunch of religious laws. Religious leaders knew GOD had chosen the Israelites, they knew GOD had set them apart. Maybe knowing that they had favor was not enough, maybe they needed to be seen by man as the special people of GOD. Maybe they possessed the desire to boast and to be seen as the favored people of GOD (Wouldnt you? After all, they were still human). Maybe they just needed a “Godly” way of getting this accomplished. Besides, what good would it do them, in the eyes of the world, to have favor in the eyes of the LORD, if the world did not see it in you and all of your people? Maybe they felt that they deserved to be better and above the rest of the world, after all … they were GODs chosen people. How could they have achieved the appearance of being Holy before men? Well, if you happen to be worried only about how other people perceive you, then acting Holy would achieve the same results as actually being Godly. Maybe the religious leaders of that time needed a way to insure their Godly image and reputation would not be flawed. Maybe they believed that their people had to appear Godly in order to be Godly. We are Blessed, we have the teachings of GODs SON, who taught us a very profound lesson concerning GODs Law. This simple and extremely valuable lesson, totally validates the non-changing ways of GOD. Yet we still perceive GODs Law in the Old Testament as being so different from GODs Law of today Why is this so? When JESUS taught us, 37 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40) Does JESUS or does HE not tell us in these verses what the bases of GODs Law is? JESUS said, “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Here they are again, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” And Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” So according to JESUS, a law has to conform to these standards; then and only then is it within the confines of GODs Law. And if a law does not conform to these standards, as set forth by our LORD and SAVIOR, then it is not within GODs Law. This is not something I say, I am only repeating what JESUS said some two thousand (2,000) years ago. When JESUS taught, 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 37 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Matthew 22:40,38,37,39) It is called the “Common Sense Approach to Christianity” because when you apply some good old common sense to the written communication GOD has given us through HIS Bible … you are then able to see the TRUTH, JESUS, in the law of Moses as it was originally designed. Please do not think I wanted to pick out certain verses of the Bible and say they were not and are not the inspired works of GOD. I know the Holy Scriptures to be true, accurate, not contradicting, and the inspired works of the HOLY GHOST working through common every day people and not the works of man to inspire GOD, but this only applies to the “HOLY SCRIPTURES” from GOD, Before continuing, we need to try and understand a little about how history is recorded. Well, not so much as how it is recorded, but by whom records it. It was and is still, written by the victors and by the people of influence. We can only presume why they wrote what they wrote. With the need for slaves instilled in their culture (especially with the rich and powerful) maybe this is why they felt like they needed to write laws concerning slavery. Also, many of these new believers had recently converted from pagan worship, so this may be why we read of very powerful and harsh punishments they wrote into the law. These laws may be a true account of the history of Christianity, but it was not and is not the inspired WORD of GOD. This was not GODs intentions when HE handed down the stone tablets to Moses. We now have the clarity of JESUS to guide us, but these people really had no idea of who GOD was and did not have a clue on how to be in the center of GODs will. We should not try to judge them. We need to learn from them and how Religious codes and laws are far from GODs will for mankind. Remember, there is only one thing separating us from them .. the BLOOD of JESUS the CHRIST. GOD gave them the Ten (10) Commandments and how did they try to obey the law? By writing more laws. Maybe they tried to decipher GODs Law and apply it to the only lifestyle and culture they knew. So portions of the Old Testament could contain their interpolations as they tried to understand GODs Law. GOD has his reasons for allowing this dark past in Christianity to be preserved, even though it was never HIS law. We need to honor HIS will and not go and try to remove it from our history. We need to remember and learn from the recorded mistakes of others. So, where do we go from here? We keep praying and reading GODs WORD. While doing this if we will keep in account that some of the laws recorded in the Old Testament could be not of GODs true will. Then there is a simple revaluation awaiting to revealing itself. A new way to view the reasoning behind the New Testament. The real reason JESUS was sent to us. Church has taught me that GODs Law in the Old Testament was not right. So HE made a New Covenant, a new Law. So I have been taught that GOD made a mistake? GOD had to Re-Write the Law? Really? GOD made a mistake? No! Not my GOD! Is it not just like people to place the blame elsewhere … even to blame GOD for their own mistakes. The real problem, people were just to ignorant to figure out GOD. But being a just and TRUE GOD, HE then sent JESUS, HIS only begotten SON, and through HIS teachings we can understand the Law. JESUS did not come as a New covenant, HE came so we could understand the Law and discover the flaws in mans attempt to write the Law. We have learned from their errors and we know Salvation is through faith, faith in JESUS the CHRIST and not by obeying religious rules. We can now understand GODs Law as it was originally intended to be followed. The GREAT TEACHER explains to us exactly how each and everyone of HIS followers are to obey the Law, by following these two (2) commandments you are following the entire Law of GOD. HE teaches us this mighty lesson using only a few small sentences. HE teaches us a simple lesson with a complex and profound meaning, we find it recorded in Matthew 22:37-39 [More verses are referenced so you will know the exact context]. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:35-40) So, in order to follow the Law as originally recorded in the Old Testament all we need to do is Love the LORD our GOD will all your heart, body, and soul and we also need to love other people as we love ourselves. JESUS said, “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Anything and everything else concerning the law is merely mans interpolation of what they thought GOD wanted. So several verses (maybe Chapters even) recorded in the Bible are merely mans attempt to inspire GOD and are not GOD inspiring man. We do not need to harp on this claim, but acknowledging it and allow the TRUTH to be seen. Common sense tells you something has to be wrong. How can a person claim ownership over another person; possessing dominion of a person he loves, as he loves himself? How can you pass a harsh and deadly punishment onto another living soul and love this person as yourself? It can not be done. Then it appears the Bible contradicts itself. Maybe it does. But the WORD of GOD as written by men inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT never contradicts itself. Again I say, the true WORD of GOD never contradicts itself. What is contradicting is GODs WORD against the law as written by man in their attempt to gratify the ONE TRUE GOD. What exactly does “contradict” mean? Webster defines it as “to imply the opposite or a denial of.” Lets examine a law that was possibly written by mere man alone. “And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eyes sake.” Exodus 21:26 If the HOLY SPIRIT wrote this, what exactly is HE saying? HE says HE is condoning slavery and supports violence for your cause, then goes and gives further instructions to the master to set your (male or female) slave free if you happen to hit them and blind them (might as well set them free, you went and handicapped them, they are no good now, damaged goods, get rid of them). So, if you hit a slave (male or female ~ after all they do not matter) and you do not make them go blind there is no problem and you can continue to have dominion over this fellow human beings. Does this sound like the WORD of GOD? The same GOD that teaches … “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also” Matthew 5:39 By utilizing the best theological tool GOD has given everyone, common sense you can see these two (2) verses in the Bible contradict themselves. We are informed in one verse what to do when we hit and blind your servant, then in another verse we are instructed to deter all together from violence. Does this or does this not imply the total opposite of each other? We are also informed in the first verse that slavery is acceptable. For sure the term servant here implies they are a slave because in the latter part of that verse we are instructed to set them free after they have been blinded. If we are to set them free then we must first possess ownership of this person. So, if this was written by the HOLY SPIRIT then HE is condoning slavery. Do you think the HOLY GHOST would inspire men to write something that is and always has been against the will of GOD? No! He could not! The HOLY GHOST is one form of our LORD and does not go against the FATHER”S will (period). Man on the other hand fails GOD constantly. Which one of theses ideas really and truly sound like the LORD our GOD? The ONE TRUE LIVING GOD once made a mistake, HIS Law in the Old Testament was not correct. HE even allowed the HOLY SPIRIT to inspire men to write and record Scripture that one day would not be valid and can even be seen as against the true will of GOD. Or Man tried to fill in the blanks with laws in their attempt to please the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD. GOD has allowed these laws to remain Scripture as a history lesson so mankind will not repeat the same mistakes. Is it easier for us to accept: GOD changed or GOD changed HIS Law. [Remember GOD does not change] than to accept Man (in the Old Testament) tried to please GOD. So they wrote a lot of rules and regulations to follow, but some of these laws were not in accordance to GODs will for mankind. [Remember man fails GOD all the time] Why is it so difficult for us to try and examine the possibilities, the possibility of GOD allowing history to be recorded in HIS HOLY BIBLE. GOD wants us to continue to grow and learn in our knowledge of HIM. We know GOD does not change, but yet we are quick to say GOD changed the Law. JESUS tells us that the Old Testament Law is based on love, ones total devotion to GOD and love for others (see Matthew 22:37-40). Can this theory be proven? Can it pass a Biblical test? Does the idea of laws written by men not inspired by the HOLY GHOST pass the 2 Timothy 3:16 test? This Scripture says, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Isnt that correct? All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: So this would be a good test to see if the Scriptures are in fact from GOD. Could Scripture that was not the direct will of GOD and not the work of the HOLY GHOST be allowed to remain in the Bible. Sure, why not. It remains a valuable portion of Christianity history and has important lessons we all can still learn from today. So lets break this verse down into smaller parts. It first tells us that ... “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” History is recorded is to inspire, educate, honor and remember what has happened in the past. Could it just not be possible for GOD to want to preserve history? Just because GOD did not write these laws does not change the fact that HIS people did. These laws remain today because they are a true account of history. A time before JESUS, a time when mankind could not find the true will of GOD. A time when men looked within their own understanding Would not these Scriptures inspire us not to repeat their mistakes? Therefore GOD inspired the Bible writers to keep this valuable lesson from history to remain. “All scripture is ... profitable for doctrine” Valuable lessons are learned from recorded history and are worth teaching, regardless of who wrote them. “All scripture is … is profitable for reproof” The practice of writing laws to please GOD had to be corrected. Is it easier or more correct to say these harsh laws that exist in the Old Testament are the old ways of GOD? HIS ways us to be different? GOD in some way has changed? Or is it time to use the common sense GOD gave us and see for ourselves that the our LORD is the same now as then. HE is the GOD of compassion, the GOD of love and understanding and not a god of confusion. HIS plan, HIS Law for mankind is and has always been a simple one. This is why JESUS came to earth, to correct mans interpolation of GODs Law and not to correct GODs mistake. “All scripture is ... profitable for correction” I do not care who or why they wrote some of these laws but, it is obvious they were wrong and needed to be corrected. “All scripture is ... profitable for instruction in righteousness” Instruction in righteousness, thats right. Could these verse which were uninfluenced by the HOLY SPIRIT remain in the Bible today for our instructions in righteousness? Does this mean we use these as our laws? No way! We use these for why they were recorded, we use them as things not to do. Examples of what not to do; not to make up a bunch of rules and laws to perceive Godly in the eyes of man. What then are we to do? Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40) But do not take my word for it. Read GODs WORD for yourself. Amen
