Common Sense is something the government is lacking!! The A-10 platform is proven!!! I was a crew chief in the Air Force for 20 years, wishing I could work on he A-10, but still knowing the aircraft well because my son was a A-10 pilot. I felt it was the safest aircraft my son could fly into combat and the only Air Force aircraft the Army/Marine ground troops loved knowing it could get them out of many tight spots! There is so much more the public does not know this aircraft was designed to do which other aircraft cant do maintenance wise like wings, landing gear and more are interchangeable from left to right sides of the A-10. Maintainers of the A-10 should be able to tell you how much better this aircraft is to keep flying!!! I worked on F-4s, F-111,s and most of all the f-106 and all were pain in the ass, compared to the A-10 would be!!!
