Communication is the key to everything. Yet there is a bad trend Ive noticed in American culture: ignoring communications. It says a lot about your character when you dont respond to calls, texts, emails, messages and personal greetings within 24 hours. Is it too much to ask for your response when someone shows interest, whether personal or professional? If you are interested too, promptly express it. If not, promptly decline. Silence is worse than even the most hateful rejection. Dont waste their time by waiting 5 days to respond to Hey did you see my email from last Monday? or Wana get drinks Thurs? I dont care if its a friend, a telemarketer, a bum on the street, or you being too busy. It takes 1 second to say got it. lets talk tmrw at noon or not interested thanks. We are all human. If you casually ignore people (unless they did something horrible to deserve it), you are a terrible person in my book
