Communications and Marketing Officer Employer: Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice Salary: £17,000-£20,000 (dependent on skills and experience) Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week Location: North Anston, Sheffield, S25 4AJ Link: bluebellwood.org Closing Date: 17 November, 2014 About us: Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice offers care for children and young people in South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Derbyshire, who don’t live as long as they should. We also provide holistic support to their families and carers. The challenge: We are looking for a talented and ambitious Communications and Marketing Officer to join our team. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and will make an immediate impact in this creative and fast-paced environment. You will assist in developing and implementing our ambitious communications strategy across a variety of media, ensuring our messages reach the target audiences. The role: Forming part of this energetic and supportive team, providing a professional and responsive communications and marketing service, you will: Write copy for the Bluebell Wood website and press releases and update all of Bluebell Wood’s social media channels Design and produce a variety of publications including e-newsletters and newsletters Design and set all artwork for marketing and fundraising materials for the hospice Liaise with Bluebell Wood families for PR purposes including press releases, TV, Radio and family stories for newsletters, web and social media. The requirements: If you are a committed team player, with experience in PR, communications and marketing and have a creative flair we would love to hear from you. A strong background in public relations and communications is essential, preferably in the voluntary or fundraising sector. You will need to demonstrate that you have experience of marketing and communications through social media platforms, knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and desktop publishing, real attention to detail and able to work on your own initiative. You should also have an understanding of, or the desire to develop an understanding of, working with children and young people with a shortened life expectancy and their families/carers.
