Community Bible Experience - Day 19 Today, we get to see a different side of Paul. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul is a sledgehammer, whacking away at one problem after another. In Galatians, hes like a furnace, sparks of righteous anger flying from his pen. In Philippians, Paul is a poet. In 1 Timothy, hes a mentor. Paul was well acquainted with hardship. (His letter to the Philippians was written while he was imprisoned.) Yet no amount of suffering could diminish his joy or lessen his concern for the church. Today, well read pages 211-226 from Philippians and 1 Timothy. As you read Pauls letter to the Philippians, notice the connection between joy and community. Paul appeals to believers to stand firm in one Spirit. He urges them to make his joy complete by being like-minded and having the same love. Joy, according to Paul, is best experienced when we love and serve one another.
