Community Calendar Tomorrow November 6 At 10 a.m., Living Well with Diabetes at The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center (147 Lake St., Newburgh) helps patients living with diabetes learn how to manage their symptoms through diet, physical activity, stress management, and on-going care. VA Hudson Valley Health Care System annual Veterans Day Ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. today (at FDR Montrose campus building No. 15, 2094 Albany Post Rd., Montrose, NY), and Friday, November 7, 2 p.m., at the Castle Point campus Multipurpose Room, 41 Castle Point Rd., Wappingers Falls, NY. Montrose speaker will be William J. Latta, operations officer, directorate of logistics, U.S. Military Academy at West Point; Castle Points speaker will be Kathleen Silvia, U.S. Military Academy, West Point. Originally scheduled for October 30, the City of Newburghs Special Council Work Sessions to discuss the Proposed Managers Budget for year 2015 has been rescheduled for today at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Third Floor City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh. All are welcome to attend. There will be no public comments at these work sessions. The Town Board of Chester will meet and review its Preliminary Budget and hold a Public Hearing in the Town Hall Meeting Room, 1786 Kings Highway, Chester, at 7 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. The Town Board will hear all persons who desire to comment in favor of, or against, any items therein contained. More than 70 different colleges and universities will be represented when SUNY Orange conducts its annual Fall Transfer Fair on the Newburgh campus. 44 representatives of colleges throughout New York State (as well as the tri-state area and portions of New England) are set to attend the event in Kaplan Hall from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. to discuss the transfer options available to SUNY Orange students and members of the community.
