Community Calendar for Friday, July 19, 2013 Friday 7/19 • Kah-Nee-Ta Lodge is closed today due to damage from a kitchen fire yesterday afternoon. Kah-Nee-Ta Village and the Golf Course are operating as usual. Clearn up and repair is expected to take a few days. Lodge Employees should contact their manager to confirm work schedules • Tribal Organization offices are closed for business today due to a reduction in work hours. The Indian Health Service clinic is open today. • Volunteers are welcome to help with a community clean up at the Agency Longhouse today from 8am to 4pm. Supplies will be provided. • Vacation Bible school is going on at the Baptist church today from 830-12pm. They’ll have games, crafts and food is provided. • The Warm Springs FARMERS MARKET will be open today from 10am to 4pm on campus. • The Diabetes Programs in Warm Springs are having a group exercise, open to anyone, today at noon in the I H S atrium. • Sacred Road Ministries will have kids’ activities today at the Skate Park from 3-5pm • MAC Recreation is looking for middle school girls interested in joining their girls’ soccer team to play in the Redmond Area Select Soccer League this fall. The league runs Sept. 7th - Oct. 26th. Games are played on Saturdays in Redmond, Madras, Sisters, and Prineville. It is free to join – but today is the last day to register at the MAC, by calling 541 475 4253 OR email Carolyn@macaquatic Saturday 7/20 • The Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo is next week at the fairgrounds in Madras. Tomorrow is the Fair Parade at 10am. The theme is “80 years of Cowboy Boots and Country Roots.” There will be the 1st annual outdoor cook off at the fair on Saturday July 27th. Teams can register at the Jefferson County Fair Complex Office thru today. Teams will be expected to cook two beef tri-tips along with their choice of one entrée. • The Living Traditions Program at the Museum at Warm Springs will feature Beading Projects with Aurolyn Stwyer tomorrow from 1 til 5pm in the Lobby. • A potluck dinner and prayer gathering for the Warm Springs Christian community will be at 6 pm tomorrow at the High Lookee Lodge Tribal Room. • The 3rd annual Balloons Over Bend Children’s Festival will be held tomorrow and Sunday at Riverbend Park in Bend. The festival runs from 10-5pm on Saturday and 10-2pm on Sunday. • The Madras Saturday Market takes place at Sahalee Park in Madras on Saturdays 9am – 2pm. They offer crafts, food, produce, and other vendors. Recreation will take kids on a field trip to Lava Lanes for bowling on Wednesday, July 24th. They will leave at 9am and return by 4:30. To sign your child up, go by the Recreation office.
