Community Calendar for Monday, April 14, 2014 Monday 4/14 •Voc Rehab in Warm Springs will have an orientation session today at 3pm at their office in the industrial park., and tomorrow at 3 at the Community Counseling Center. •The Community Center begins Spring hours today. The Center will be open Monday thru Thursday 8am to 7pm. Fridays and on all no-school days the Community Center will close at 5:00. •There is no late clinic at I H S this week, it will close at 5pm. •There’s an aftercare group this evening 5:30-7pm at the Counseling Center. It’s a group offering support in continuing sobriety. •Exercise Classes today in Warm Springs are : Low Impact Cardio will be held at the Family Resource Center at 10am, Senior Fitness Class is at 10:45 at the Senior Building, and Functional Fitness at 12:10 in the Aerobics Room at the Community Center. Today’s Movin Mountains Mission Possible Slim Down Challenge free activity is Turbo Kick Class at Mad Town Fitness in Madras at 5:30pm •Warm Springs Nation Little League Schedule today: Braves at Culver 6:00; Rez Girls at the Snow Hawks on the Papoose Field at 6pm; and Warriors at the Braves, 6pm on Field #1 in Warm Springs Tuesday 4/15 •A Joint Committee Public Fair will be held tomorrow from 10am to 3pm at the Community Center. All of the tribal executive committees will participate. •Tomorrow is a late start for South Wasco County students. •The Warm Springs American Legion Post 48 meets tomorrow at 6pm at the Warm Springs Veteran’s Hall. They meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month. •Hepatitis C virus infection can be treated and cured, but many people do not know they are infected. To find out more about Hepatitis C and if you are at risk, attend a session t the Warm Springs Community Center tomorrow at 6:30pm or stop by the clinic and get info or be tested. •The Root Feast Kids’ Rodeo and Open Jackpot Rodeo are on April 26-27 at the Warm Springs Rodeo Arena. Call ins for both days will be tomorrow and Wednesday after 6:30pm, call Cheryl Tom at 541-460-1354. •There is a Diabetes Awareness and Support Group Dinner tomorrow 5-6:30pm at the Warm Springs Senior Center. Nutritionist Roopa Puri will talk about eating healthy with canned food. Baked ham and scalloped potatoes are on the menu. Anyone is welcome to attend. Wednesday 4/16 •There is a Red Cross Blood Drive Wednesday from 1 to 6pm at the United Methodist Church in Madras. To schedule you can call 1-800- RED-CROSS or do it online at RED CROSS BLOOD dot ORG. •There is a food handler’s class on Wednesday from 2-4pm in the I H S atrium. •A Job Fair in Warm Springs is being held on Wednesday from 8:30am to 5pm at the Community Center. Everyone is invited to meet with local employers and find out what job opportunities are available.
