**Community Shout-out Alert** In light of the Thanksgiving holiday, I’d like ask that we all truly count our blessings and treasure this time and memories made with friends and family surrounding us. We must remember that not everyone has somewhere to go, and many people in our own community will go without a Thanksgiving meal this year. With the belief that everyone should enjoy a warm meal and the comfort and companionship of others on Thanksgiving, a local coalition of businesses, churches, community organizations and private volunteers come together each year to host the Community Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner. This year’s dinner will take place on Thanksgiving Day from 12pm to 4:00pm at St. Raymond Catholic Church, 11555 Shannon Avenue in Dublin. I am beyond proud of this organization and these people for taking on something so selfless, something so much bigger than all of us. Since the dinner’s founding in 2011, our community has fully embraced the dinner. Each year, it gains momentum and added participation from local businesses, churches, individuals and organizations. It is because of the generous volunteerism and donations of so many, that over 100 people are able to enjoy a complete sit-down Thanksgiving dinner and experience that every American so deserves. In years past, over 200 members from our community have volunteered in this effort to bring care, comfort and holiday cheer to those in need around us. Some cook, some help set up and decorate, some clean, and many serve and work in the kitchen. To each and every volunteer and donor, I thank you and I commend you. Thank you for making a difference in our community. Thank you for bringing hope and comfort to those in need. Thank you for reminding us all of the true meaning of the Thanksgiving Holiday. This year’s dinner will again be a traditional sit-down meal of turkey and all the trimmings. For those in need of a place to go for Thanksgiving Dinner—families, seniors, military and singles— you are urged to join and will be welcomed with open arms when you do.
