Community: Woodstock Police Department Set to Host 2013 National Night Out Hi Rhonda Pezzello, PRESS RELEASE WOODSTOCK POLICE DEPARTMENT WOODSTOCK POLICE DEPARTMENT SET TO HOST 2013 NATIONAL NIGHT OUT MR13-07-03 WOODSTOCK, July 26, 2013: The Woodstock Police Department, in partnership with other local public safety agencies, is proud to invite all to join communities across the nation in celebration of National Night Out on Tuesday evening, August 6, 2013. The event will be held in the Park at City Center in downtown Woodstock where all can spend an enjoyable evening in the park with local public safety officials. National Night Out is a national program designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood relations with their public safety departments, and to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are uniting together against crime. This year will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the event where over thirty-seven million people across the country are expected to participate. The Woodstock National Night Out will feature plenty of activities for family fun: bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, face painting, SWAT demos, K-9 demos, two helicopters, a live DJ, and a Safe Kids safety house. Along with the Woodstock Police Department, the event will feature the Cherokee Sherriff’s Office, Holly Springs Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration, Woodstock Fire Department, Cherokee Fire & Emergency Services, Cherokee Safe Kids, United States Army, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Domestic Violence Task Force, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Woodstock Public Safety Foundation, Cherokee E-911 Services, Army Corp of Engineers, and Cherokee Animal Control.
