Key Outputs: The role involves a responsibility to do many different types of analysis and to coordinate projects. The candidate will apply themselves appropriately depending on the type of project. • Become an industry and product expert. • Use knowledge to support Discovery’s distribution channels and drive sales. • Prepare and make presentations on technical components of marketing material for product launches and industry roadshows. • Develop intermediary tools, this includes paper based tools and working with developers to put together electronic applications and tools. • Participate in and drive strategic marketing and distribution projects that have a broad scope and are focused on driving sales and building the Discovery brand. Projects include: • Working with product development to develop solutions for clients in an environment where Discovery competes head-to-head with other product providers. • Designing a framework to measure the effectiveness of different marketing campaigns. • Developing research material that can be used to position Discovery as a thought leader in the market. • Compiling material that can be rolled out through PR campaigns and to technical intermediaries. • Developing actuarial level papers. The candidate must be able to liaise at different levels and build relationships. This liaison will include interactions with: • Discovery sales consultants and IFA intermediaries • Back-office operations • Training team • Marketing services • Product development • Distribution heads • Discovery management and executives.
