Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for ALL life: human, nonhuman and our home. How are we going to move on as a society and as a species, when so many individuals arent respected? Liberation for ALL animals – human and nonhuman is the only way. People ask me more times than I can and care to count, why do you expect people to respect other animals and the Earth if they dont respect each other? It is a great question if only reversed, or perhaps inverted!! How are we going to respect each other if we cant respect the innocent (the weakest among us) and our very own survival? And our very own survival depends upon us respecting ALL individuals. One does not respect an individual if one sees that individual as less than, to be used or here to serve one’s purpose. If one sees me as less than or to serve one’s purpose – I know that I am not being respected. If you look at another as something to be used, or as food, entertainment, etc., you are not showing respect – No, THAT is contempt – I don’t care how you justify it or how many blessings you ask for it – IT REMAINS CONTEMPT.
