Competence Based Training Report. May 29th thru May 30th, 2013. Once again, another Competence Based Training (C.B.T) was successfully held on St. Eustatius. Businesses throughout the island were approached and sent general information about the ROA CN, The Council of Education and Labor Market and CBT. Thereafter, all businesses that expressed interest in training students in the future as well as attending our training were all notified using invitations. They were also informed that after recent observations and participants discussions it was decided that the 3 day training course would be shortened by one 1 day. Our training was held at the Auxiliary Home Conference room on Wednesday May 29th & Thursday May 30th, 2013 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm on both days. During those 2 days a total of 11 persons attended to represent their respective companies. The participants showed much interest and enthusiasm during the training by showing up on time, asking many question, taking part in group discussions and participating actively in role plays which made those hours very well spent. The various individuals that were in attendance during this training course represented the following companies: • NU Star Energy • Public Works Department • Seven Seas • EUTEL N.V. • Harbour Office • GEBE N.V. • Gertrude Judson Bicentennial Public Library • Buzzy Bees Youth Care Foundation • Office of the Secretary General of the Island Council A positive attitude towards training students during their internship periods remains to be very prominent here on St, Eustatuis. There is genuine interest and willingness to assist in giving students the opportunity to study and train here on the island.
