Competition? Ruthless monopolies? what is wrong with people these days. Getting pretty sick and tired of people (in business) who think they own something or have the monopoly on something. Really? If you really feel threatened then you need to look at how you do business and the quality or benefit of what you offer. We never feel threatened or in competition with others - because we know we offer honest, ethical, intriguing and cool stuff. Ive been to festivals where someone offering the same kind of art or service as us demanding they have a monopoly on such craft, showing up at a fair and selling a particular artists figurines because that artist was there (and we didnt know s/he would be there - not that it matters if we bought their art wholesale to resell for them), As a bodypainter or as a tarot reader to show up at a festival to offer my arts, and other bodypainters, facepainters, or tarot readers feeling threatened (no one paints like me nor them, no one reads cards like me or them), a local costume shop wanting us not to carrry the same costumes as them, a local metaphysical kiosk coming in and putting their business cards onto our info table covering our cards, and then today an amazon herb company threatening to defame us for selling a herb they do because we have a better price .... this is America ... a world of diversity and ability to get something from a variety of sources. Not to mention the metaphysical shop in Depoe Bay who nixed us from renting the shop next to them because we carry a few similar things .... they felt threatened as us being competition and here we thought our businesses would compliment each other attracting more business for the lot of us .... where is the community and diversity? sheesh
