Competitors at Fridays womens 12.5 km biathlon blamed a poorly marked course at the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympic Games for a bizarre occurrence, in which all but one of the entrants skied in the wrong direction. The skier, Momoko Dekijima of Japan was then forced to ski the mens 3km loop on her final lap in an attempt to even up the distances. The other skiers would have traversed 0.5 km further if Dekijima wasnt required to complete the final lap. Predictably, Japan issued a formal protest on Saturday. The catch: the event wasnt the visually impaired biathlon, it was the 12.5 km standing event. Boooooooo. china.org.cn/world/Off_the_Wire/2014-03/15/content_31793961.htm
