Complaining about a problem without proposing a solution, is - TopicsExpress

Complaining about a problem without proposing a solution, is called whining. Theodore Roosevelt Many gentleman warriors have allowed to state of the country, the state of their relationships, their finances, etc., etc., to cause them to forget this basic truth by Teddy Roosevelt. It is an easy trap to fall into. I have to admit, I have been guilty of this myself from time to time. Here is the heart of the matter: If you can do something about the problem, stop whining, propose a solution, and take action. If you cant do anything about the problem, stop whining and continue to work on perfecting your own life. Notice that neither choice includes complaining or whining incessantly about the problem. It is looking more and more like we have raised a generation of wimps and whiners, who do not have the backbone to stand up for what is right and take action. Rather, they cling to the safety of their own little hiding places and complain about everything that is going on in the world from behind a computer screen or from their overused couch. It is time to put up or shut up. Take action or sit quietly on the sidelines. True warriors do not whine. We need to remind ourselves of this from time to time. Cowboy up and have the courage to take action where action is needed. And where you cant offer any productive solutions, go about your own business without throwing more gas on the fire. Just my two cents.
