Completely confused the fool on the phone just now, advising me that his computer has sensed that my laptop had downloaded a virus (and he had proof!). He wanted me to sit down and open Windows on my computer. The magic words? I have a Mac. He covered the phone and started sputtering in a foreign language to someone else who responded in the same tongue (caller ID said Hawaii, but the horribly broken English and accents put them in another region of the world altogether). All I could understand in the grumbled, rapid exchange was the word Mac. Awww, he thought he had someone gullible on the line. So much fun messing with would-be scammers! ;)
