Composer/multi-instrumentalist Dane Runyon just released his 2nd solo album, Under Grand Suggestion, which I played on with Jeff Campitelli (drums). Its one of the best-composed, arranged and produced records Ive ever had the privilege to track. Imagine The Beatles, Mike Keneally, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, and various unexplainable melodic psychedelia, and add Danes great vocals and lyrics, and thats what this is. Also, I actually get to do some dark-toned melodic McCartney-meets-Roger-Waters-esque bass stuff on here, which I love doing but I dont get asked to do often enough. I cant recommend this release highly enough - Dane is a truly unique artist who deserves our support. Please check out his new record! (My choice cuts: Not One, Seriously Though and Pretty Ugly.)
