Concurso de design de logotípo – Lisbon Players DESIGN OUR NEW LISBON PLAYERS LOGO OPEN COMPETITION Calling all students, artists, designers, and inspired community members! The Lisbon Players is looking for a new visual identity and needs your help. We are seeking a creative, innovative and professional logo design that should be recognizable and help promote our theatre’s image as a Lisbon‐based company, producing theatre in English since 1947. The rest is up to you! Please read below for more details regarding logo design requirements & submission guidelines. Deadline for logo design proposals: Midday (12:00), Friday 28th November, 2014 Please send your design to: lisbonplayersdesign@gmail Logo design requirements: The purpose of this competition is to design a logo for the Lisbon Players. The logo will be used online, in print, on merchandise and in any other format which may arise, in order to promote the theatre’s image, productions and events. For more information on the Lisbon Players, visit our Website: lisbonplayers.pt and/or our Facebook page: facebook/lisbonplayers The old logo can be seen above, as well as on the website (unfortunately a higher quality image is not available). – Initial entries must be submitted by email to lisbonplayersdesign@gmail as a JPG/JPEG/PNG. – The winning logo will be requested in high resolution JPG/JPEG/PNG and EPS format. See the Submission Guidelines below for further information. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing in large and small scale. The logo must contain the words “The Lisbon Players”. A variant of the logo using the same basic design but with the addition of “Theatre in English since 1947” is also required. Images in the logo should not be photographic. Flexibility is a key requirement: need to re‐size easily must look good and be available in black and white as well as different colours It is important that designs are not in any way similar to existing logos or other copyrighted images (exception: allusions to the old Lisbon Players logo could prove interesting). Entries must conform to the Submission Guidelines set out below. Entries which fail to do so will be rejected. We will attempt to acknowledge all entries within one week of receipt; however, we cannot be responsible for entries or responses lost in e‐mail. Submission Guidelines: The Lisbon Players is open to proposals from anyone, whether or not they have worked with us before. Initial entries must be submitted by email to lisbonplayersdesign@gmail The email must include: name, phone number and email address of the entrant JPG/JPEG/PNG versions of the logo in black & white JPG/JPEG/PNG versions of the logo in other colours Due to requirements for high quality printing and re‐sizing, the winning design will be requested in: high resolution JPG/JPEG/PNG, and scalable vector graphic format (EPS). The logo must contain image and the words “The Lisbon Players” A variant of the logo using the same basic design but with the addition of “Theatre in English since 1947” is also required. The logo must not contain any other text besides that required above. JPG/JPEG/PNG versions are requested for the initial submission. No more than 3 entries may be submitted by any one entrant. The deadline for all entries is midday (12:00) on Friday, 28th November, 2014, GMT+1. Judging and selection of winning logo: The winning logo and all formats requested from the winner will be used by the Lisbon Players to promote the theatre’s productions, events and image as a Lisbon‐based company, producing theatre in English since 1947. The winning design will be voted on by the Lisbon Players elected management committee as well as invited judges shortly after the deadline date. This will be in the form of a ‘blind’ vote (i.e. the identity of the designer will be hidden). Their decision will be final. The Lisbon Players reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received. The winner will be required to sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to the Lisbon Players. Accepting the prize constitutes permission for the Lisbon Players to make public and otherwise use the winner’s name for publicity purposes. Further personal data may be requested but is not required. The winner will be announced at the start of 2015. Prize Two tickets to each production at the Lisbon Players in 2015. The right to use the logo competition in portfolio and CV. Publicity: the Lisbon Players will announce the winning design online and include a piece about the designer and his/her work (this information will be requested from the winner as and when relevant). Personalized mug printed with winning design. Intellectual Property All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre‐existing design. All entries will become the sole property of the Lisbon Players and may be displayed publicly on the Lisbon Players websites and publicity material. The Lisbon Players may alter the colour and size of the logo as seen fit. The Lisbon Players reserves the right to discard the logo in due course, as and when it fails to meet expectations.
