Conferences comes and go. The organisation must remain. Is unfortunate that some of the organisational structures e.g branches collapses after conferences. They are termed branches of convenience. What are branches of convenience? -Branches established for the sole purpose of conferences (Regional/Provincial/National) - Branches established for sole purpose of nominations of councillors candidate/MPLs/MPs. -Branches established for sole purpose of elections. Local/National elections. How do you see that you branch is a branch of convenience? -When no leader from an upper structure is concerned about the existence of your branch if there are no conferences/elections etc. - When no member of the upper structure worries about challenges you are having in your branch but getting only interest when there are conferences/elections coming. How to deal with that? - Continue to strive building the branch at all times most importantly the political consciousness of members to deal with manipulation. -Even if there is no formal structure within your area,continue engaging with potential members in your personal capacity providing political education. -Expose opportunistic tendencies of trying to make you voting cows. #Thatsmyview
