Confirmed: An Administrative court in the western city of Cologne, Germany ruled for the first time on Tuesday that seriously ill patients may grow their own marijuana for medical purposes in certain cases. Cannabis remains illegal for general use in Germany, however it may be cultivated at home by some patients with medical permits for the drug. The court said in a statement that applications must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, adding that a key condition was that access by third parties to the plants and products must be sufficiently restricted.
