Congrats again to Perry Trimper. As a former writer on politics, especially in Labrador I have to point out the value of voting - the question people raise in why does my one little vote count? the result last night, as presented in the story would have come out very differently had just ONE MORE person cast a ballot : There would have been a second count, now mind you I did ask for a recount which if one spoiled ballot was found it still would have likely delayed the inevitable. BUT had one more voted, the ballots cast for Lori would have been taken out of the total, and her second choice voters would have been divvied up. IF every single one went to me, I would have won (that is highly unlikely, but neat academic thinking), but I know a lot of them would have. So continuing the little academic foray, had maybe a dozen or perhaps two more showed up supporting Lori or myself it would have gone drastically differently. not sour grapes! I accept the results - perhaps another dozen could have shown up and supported a wider margin for Perry. I just get a kick out of this kind of thing and want to remind you, that yes, your one vote does indeed make a huge difference sometimes. so go out, and vote in the PC nomination, and the NDP one. and Vote in the elections! It did in Quebec as I wrote about 2 elections ago there where 1000 voters made the difference between a PQ government vs a liberal one. see below, but above the Labradorian article theindependent.ca/2012/09/06/quebec-election-pqed-my-interest/ thelabradorian.ca/News/Local/2014-09-25/article-3882189/Trimper-wins-Liberal-nomination-in-Lake-Melville/1
