Congrats to Alex Cruickshanks, an old RURC member, Boat Race Winner, SA Champs Gold Medalist and who represented South Africa in World Student Games twice in the eight and pair respectively who has just won the Ford Ranger Odyssey;a cross-continent challenge that saw the Ranger and its drivers put to the test in Africa’s most extreme terrain. Heat, dust and thousands of kilometres in some of Africa’s most awe-inspiring but technically tough routes tested the 10 finalists of which Alex was the winner. There is no doubt the sport of rowing contributed to his mental and physical toughness to overcome this challenge and hope he enjoys the spoils!
