Congrats to Fariwinds Farms & Stables for winning 5th place in the 100 Day Horse Challenge. Fairwinds Farm & Stables Awarded in National Contest by Sharing Horses with Newcomers Fairwinds Farm & Stables wins 5th place in a national competition to introduce new enthusiasts to horses. North East, Maryland, September 25, 2014 – Fairwinds Farm & Stables won 5th place in the nation for their successful efforts in the 100 Day Horse Challenge this summer. Created by the Time to Ride initiative, the nationwide 100 Day Horse Challenge involved hundreds of hosts like Fairwinds Farm who believe that horse activities can contribute to the health and well-being of all Americans. Owned and operated by Ted & JoAnn Dawson, Fairwinds Farm & Stables, Inc. is an award-winning riding stable and bed & breakfast, open year-round. This diversified stable offers something for everyone! During the challenge, Fairwinds hosted The Original Lipizzaner Stallions of Austria for their amazing “Airs Above the Ground” performance, held their annual Family Day on the Farm and offered everyday activities such as riding lessons, pony rides, birthday parties, carriage rides, girl scout sessions, and trail rides. The Dawsons believe that horse activities are beneficial to individuals and families in many ways, and they are passionate about sharing horses and ponies with families through their riding and horsemanship programs. One newcomer wrote, “I had contacted you awhile back about trail riding. You were wonderfully nice enough to hook my significant other up with your Percheron, Polly. He enjoyed it so much! Hes been asking about getting back on a horse (told me he would have bought Polly if she were for sale)… I did get him a helmet for his birthday and would like to set him up for a few lessons. Nothing fancy to get him in the show ring, but just enough that hes comfortable with the basics. Your farm had such a great atmosphere!! Thank you!” The Dawsons encourage families to reconnect with the horse to find the benefits of equine activities, believing that “the horse can bring the family together in an activity that is part work-out, part therapy session and part pure exhilaration.” Fairwinds is proud to introduce newcomers to horses through a variety of events and activities. In addition to their regular activities, the Dawsons now offer weddings on the farm from May through October. To learn more call 410-658-8187 or visit their website at fairwindsstables.
