Congratulating Brig. Gen. Laura Richardson, who became the first female Deputy Commanding General for the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, and the first female division deputy commander in the U.S. Army on July 5, 2012! For those inspired by her accomplishments, Richardson advised both male and female Soldiers how to succeed: “Be a competent and confident professional, accept new challenges and always take care of your people.” Following that assignment, she served as deputy chief of staff, communications, Headquarters, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. On June 2, 2014, Richardson was selected to become the chief, legislative liaison, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C. Hooah!
