Congratulations Canada. I applaud you for the way your government, media, and social media have handled the series of event over the last few days. I am very happy to see you do two things in particular. First, you called the shooter for what he is. You publicly called out his ISIL/S tendencies. Your prime minister called him a terrorist without the political correct dancing that tends to happen in the United States. Second, you didnt glamour up the shooters image as the American press loves to do. If you would ever watch the U.S. coverage of a mass shooting you would be asked to feel sympathy instead of anger. The shooter wouldnt be blamed, his upbringing, psych meds, social status, bullying, or access to a gun would take the blame. And in this county, the Land of the Brave would never give any type of credit to a person who stopped a shooter using a firearm. As rough and ready as we like to think we are in this nation, defending oneself or others using deadly force is somehow socially unacceptable. Even our law enforcement and military are demonized when they are forced to use deadly force. Bravo Canada!
