Congratulations Manoj Tiwary on his 19th FC ton. Undoubtedly he has been one of the unluckiest guys in Indian cricket. I strongly feel this guy should have played regular Test cricket since 2010-11. Theres been a lot of talk going around Suresh Rainas deserving Test berth. I agree that Raina has been outstanding since his comeback post Asia Cup. He has raised his game to a world-class level but his exploits in the limited overs formats shouldnt be the benchmark for his Test selection. He has played 17 Tests and an average of 28 isnt good, and I hope he toils hard and proves himself in the First Class season, meanwhile the selectors should focus attention on those who have been in the queue long waiting for their wrongly denied due. Manoj made news much before the likes of Rohit and Virat, but thanks to mistimed injuries, bad luck and biased selections, the Bengal skipper kept falling behind. I have watched him (on many occasions, live) over the years and I believe he is a perfect number six when playing for India because most of his knocks have come under pressure scenarios, playing with the tail. Unlike the brilliant Rohits, Virats and the Rahanes, who have the comfort of playing for the state/zone teams with best batting line-ups, Manoj, over the years has almost single-handedly guided Bengal/East to glory or respect and has managed to average 60 in FC cricket. Some blokes save their best in high pressure situations, something MS Dhoni does better than everyone when it comes to limited overs cricket. Its an unfair comparison of course, but I believe Manoj is the closest man who can emulate the legendary VVS Laxmans role. I hope and pray that the selectors give him the time and show him the fair for the same. #Cricket #ManojTiwary #DuleepTrophy #IndvsWI #TestCricket
