Congratulations Quaboag Plantation Guild - West Brookfield, MA!! You are Warms Quilt Guild of the Week!! A huge box of batting goodies will be sent to your guilds President for distribution! Thank you for participating! Story Shared by Brenda: When tornadoes ripped through some neighboring towns, our guild (Quaboag Plantation Quilt Guild) got together and collected many donations of sewing machines, notions, fabric, pattern books, etc. and we adopted some quilters that had been affected who lost everything. We also made them each a comfort quilt. One of the victims was a gentleman who had just lost his wife to cancer 6 months prior to the tornado that wiped out his entire house. He had made feed sack quilts for all his children but only one survived and was found. Amazingly, a woman many towns away, who lost a good friend and fellow quilter also to cancer, had her friends stash she wanted to donate to a good cause and it was full of feed sack squares! As fate had it, we were able to connect with her and present all these donations to him and get him back enjoying his hobby. This man was so overwhelmed with emotion when we presented all his goodies, he had us all in tears.
