Congratulations, Yarmouth!!!!! It was just announced a few minutes ago that our Town has won the National Award for the Best Town in Canada in the 5001 - 9000 population category at the National Communities in Bloom Award Ceremonies here in Charlottetown, PEI. I am here with Yarmouth CiB Committee Members Seretha MacIsaac, Carol McKinlay, Phil Mooney and David Warner. We were honoured to receive the National Trophy on behalf of our Town. You have worked so hard in making Yarmouth a better place through our gardens, plantings, recycling, water treatment, garbage collection and so on. It was through all your efforts over the past five years, that we have been in this competition, that led to today. Our trophy, medal and certificate will be delivered to Town Hall on Monday morning and will be on display. We all should be so proud of this achievement that we have realized after years of effort. And, theres more to come!!!!! We are currently looking at hiring the National Conference here in 2017 and our Committee is looking forward to putting for this bid as the first small town to host such a prestigious event.
