Congratulations to BAS club member Felicity Aston on being appointed MBE for services to polar exploration in the New Years Honours List. In 2013, first women to ski solo across Antarctica. In 2009 she led eight Commonwealth women from Cyprus, Ghana, India, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, New Zealand, Jamaica and the UK to the South Pole. In 2006 she led the first British womens team to cross the Greenland ice sheet. She is much valued Ambassador for the British Antarctic Monument Trust antarctic-monument.org .
