Congratulations to Canadas Polish community for leading the charge on erecting a global Tribute to Liberty, to memorialize the victims of communism. My grandfather, Lucjan Wisniowski, was one of them, dying in Siberia in 1942 and resting in an unknown place, on his unfinished odyssey to freedom after being deported at gunpoint to Soviet slave labour with his family (including my father, Zbigniew) from their home in February 1940 during World War II.
