Congratulations to Joe Gray and Shannon Payne who received a Spirit of the Springs award yesterday! Joe Gray won the Northeast Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race and the USA Track and Field Mountain Running National Championship. He is a nine-time national champion and has qualified for the U.S. National Team. Shannon Payne won the Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race and placed third in the World Mountain Running Long Distance Championship, which was part of this year’s Pikes Peak Ascent. Allie McLaughlin was not in attendance, but will also receive a Spirit of the Springs award. She took first place in the World Mountain Running Long Distance Championship. She won the Woman’s National Title at the USA Track and Field Nationals, as well as a spot on the U.S. National Team. She is also the 2014 World Champion.
