Congratulations to Kay Ankerich, member of our Chambers Board of Directors, on being recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution for her contribution to our community. The photo and article below appeared in this weeks edition of The Hartwell Sun. The month of March is designated as Womens History Month. The emphasis of Women in History is on the role of women, past and present, in American history. The Daughters of the American Revolution encourages chapters to select a notable woman from their state or community to honor. Women chosen for their recognition are women who have made a contribution or a difference in their communities. This year the John Benson Chapter honored Kay Sanders Ankerich at their March 7, 2014 meeting. Mrs. Ankerich is employed with the Hartwell Police Department. In recognition, she was presented a certificate for her honesty, fairness and hard work. Pictured left to right: Mary Anne Huggins, regent, Mrs. Ankerich, and First Vice Regent, Sara Lesseur.
