Congratulations to St. Eds Boys and Solon Girls. Both teams won their third straight State Indoor Track and Field Championships. Can you say, Dynasty? St. Eds team was led by UCLA bound Steele Wasik, who total 23 pts for his work. Michigan recruit Shaun Crawford and Junior John Zedella also had huge contributions. The Eagles totaled 49 pts in the non-OHSAA sanctioned meet while runner-up Pickerington North scored 36 points. The Solon Girls did not lead in the girls meet until after the final event. The comets, who did not win any individual events, were in fourth place going into the triple-jump. Elizabeth Obi placed second in the jump to give Solon 8 points giving the Comets 32 1/2 points to edge out Austintown Fitch and Centerville who tied for second at 32. Way to go EAGLES and Comets!! Also in the winners circle last night was the St. Eds Basketball Team. They defeated the Blue-Devils of Brunswick 74-62 in a game that was much closer than the final score would indicate. The win gave the Eagles their ninth District Championship in the last ten years. They will advance to the Akron Regional which will be played at Akron Us JAR Arena. St. Eds gets a chance to beat St. Ignatius for the third time this season on Thursday night, game time is 7pm. GO EAGLES!!!!!
