Congratulations to our two recipients of the Chauncey Peterson Scholarship this year. The first recipient is a repeat applicant. His name is Lōgan Andrew Henneke. Logan will begin his 2nd year at Wheaton College. His major is Ancient Languages with a minor in Biblical Archaeology. Logan feels called to study the biblical language era, both for purposes of translation and a proper scholarly understanding of the biblical scriptures in their original languages. Also for the historical/cultural context in which they were written, so that we may have a more complete understanding of Christianity. The second recipient is Whitley Rachelle Groth. She attended KU last year but while serving at church camp, sensed a calling to Missions. Whitley will be attending Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the fall. She will have a double major, Christian Ministry (Mission Focus) and Counseling Psychology. This double major provides basic preparation for service in missions, along with an understanding of psychological theory and methodology. Both recipients are members of First Baptist Church. We believe both recipients to be passionate followers of Christ with a heart for ministry through their respective majors.
