Congratulations to the Hart County boys and girls track teams for an outstanding season and their fine performances at the AAA Sectionals Track and Field Meet this past weekend at East Jackson. Girls that qualified for the state meet were: Kelin Leverett placed 6th in the pole vault clearing 7 feet, 6 inches, Audrey Honiotes placed 1st in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 16.70 seconds and Audrey also placed 2nd in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11 minutes, 44.45 seconds, and Hart’s 4 by 100 meter relay team of Taliyah Mahoney, Theresa Wheeler, Delisha Jackson, Riquanza Stowers and alternate Annijya Romer placed 4th with a time of 50.05 seconds. These girls will travel to Albany on Wednesday to represent Hart County at the State Track and Field Championships. Boys that qualified for the state meet were: Moe Walker placed 8th in the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 1 inch, and Torace Sturgeon placed 1st in the shot put with a distance of 52 feet, 4 inches and Torace also placed 5th in the discus with a distance of 142 feet, 8 inches. The boys will represent Hart County at the State Track and Field Championships in Jefferson on Thursday, May 8th. Good luck boys and girls at your State Meets!!!
