Congratulations to the Marion High School Scarlet Spectrum Marching Band for a 3rd place finish and 1st in drumline in Class 3A at the Waukee Marching Invitational Saturday night at Waukee High School Stadium. I attended with my daughter and Marion Class of 2010 band alum Hannah Kinney (2009 marching season drum major) and Megan Brant and it was a wonderful evening. Great showing for Marion in a very competitive field. Father and daughter still both have marching band in their blood. We thoroughly enjoyed all the bands but are particularly pleased and proud of how far the Scarlet Spectrum has come under Chad Allard s leadership since he became director Hannahs freshman year. Great weekend for me after also attending Marions final home football game Friday with son Brian Kinney .
