Congratulations to the Wollongong Roller Hawks on a great win last night, 67-75. We are so proud of how both teams played and conducted themselves - showcasing wheelchair basketball at such a high and exciting level! With a lot of first time watchers in our awesome home crowd, the sport of wheelchair basketball now definitely has some new fans!! Thank you so much to everyone that came out to our very first WA home game and to participate in our community activities earlier in the afternoon, it was just magic. Special thanks to - Violet Pickett for her beautiful Welcome to Country. Captains of both teams Ryan Morich and Brett Stibners for their Acknowledgement to Country Deanna Smith of the West Coast Waves WNBL (Official), for going above and beyond as the ultimate Game Commissioner! Western Australia Disabled Sports Association for setting up their super fun activities before the game. Wolfpack Basketballand the Howells family, for all their support and advice leading into and during the game! Including loaning us their fantastic MC, Neil Barnard, and mascot (who was transformed into a Heeler for a night!) Wheelchair Sports WA for assisting with the wheelchairs so that everyone could experience what is like to play the game! (once again, kids and big kids loved it!) Subsea 7 for awesome supporters Tees and their ongoing support - it was a pleasure meeting more of the Subsea 7 family last night! Yanderup Sports Club for organising the fantastic raffle and all the goodies! Luke Vladich, our stand in super physio! All the volunteers including Roelands Village Community Members (on the Arts Station and at the door), our teams family members and friends. And of course everyone who came to support the Heelers movement!
