Congress News: BILL SEEKS ANOTHER POSTPONEMENT OF SK ELECTIONS, THIS TIME TO OCTOBER 2016 House Bill 5043 is seeking to once again postpone the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections to Oct. 31, 2016. The proposed bill co-authored by Baguio City Rep. Nicasio Aliping Jr. and Pangasinan 6th District Rep. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas aims to pave the way for the deliberation of the proposed amendments and provisions of the Local Government Code. President Aquino signed into law a bill postponing the Oct. 28, 2013 SK elections to Feb. 21 2015 in order to pave the way for reforms. “We are not yet ready with the reforms that will be undertaken in re-introducing the Sanguniang Kabataan, ” said Aliping.
