Terror suspect, Fakruddin alias Police, arrested by Tamil Nadu Police Q branch has revealed before interrogators that he had done a recce in Gujarat to assassinate BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, a India TV report stated. He told the Police that he was taken to Gujarat by Abubakar Siddique, a wanted criminal, but he could not implement and execute his plan there. Siddique is absconding and carries a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head. According to investigators, ‘Police’ Fakruddin, Bilal Malik and Panna Ismail are involved in the 2011 Tirumangalam (Madurai) pipe bomb case besides being wanted in the murders of Ramesh, Vellaiyappan and the April 17 BJP Bangalore office bombing case. During the course of investigations, an SID police party seized 17 kg of explosives and 141 electric detonators from a house in Melapalayam in Tirunelveli in south Tamil Nadu and arrested Tasim, Katta Shahul, Kutty alias Noorul Hameed, Samsu and Bismi. In the Bangalore BJP office blast case, K Peer Mohideen, J Basheer Ahmed and Syed Mohammed Buhari alias Kitchan Buhari, all belonging to Tamil Nadu have already been arrested by Karnataka Police. Meanwhile, Bilal Malik was on Monday remanded in judicial custody till October 18 by a court in Vellore.
