Congress wakes up late to KCR’s threat ---------------Hyderabad: A sitting MLA of Congress gets a call from Congress vice-president’s office “directly”. Rahul Gandhi spoke to Patancheru MLA Nandishwar Goud twice and assured him all the issues that are agitating him will be addressed. In fact, Goud immediately shot off a letter to AICC for redressal. The essence of Rahul’s phone call was to ask him not to leave Congress. Speaking to media persons after Rahul Gandhi’s phone call, Goud was ecstatic that Rahul Gandhi spoke to him twice. TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah was by his side, when Goud was speaking to media. This is not something that happens every day in Congress. But one has to see the level of crisis. State Congress leadership was not active all these days, as the Congress high-command took its own time in constituting the new Telangana PCC and Seemandhra PCC. And TRS happily poached several sitting MLAs of Congress in the meantime. Nandishwar was unhappy with the DCC leadership. TPCC leaders swung into action in the case of Pratap Reddy, who was also ready to switchover to TRS, after he faced targeting by former minister Shankar Rao, who sees Pratap Reddy as his competitor. But after the intervention of TPCC leaders, Pratap Reddy also announced that he is not going to leave Congress. Perhaps, leaders of other parties now have an opportunity to meet T Congress leaders as TPCC is ready as an organizational setup. Ponnala said TDP leader Suddala Devaiah has met him and is keen to join Congress. Although central Congress leaders have been welcoming TJAC leaders to join the party, it took almost two to three weeks for the first-ever joining of a TJAC leader in Congress. TJAC leader Addanki Dayakar joined Congress in the presence of TPCC campaign committee Chief Damodara Rajanarasimha. And Ponnala Lakshmaiah was not ready to concede that T Congress has lost some of its leaders to TRS.
