Congressional Oversight Committee = public scold? Thats helpful to the operation of our government in what way? If something has gone wrong, the point of oversight is to fix it and hold people accountable (hopefully). Issa cant find any wrongdoing that doesnt stem from confusion between statutory and regulatory instructions to the IRS. The scandal is that so many organizations get tax exemption for political activity when the law clearly states 501(c)(4)s should be exclusively for social welfare. But Issa isnt interested in maintaining government oversight. Hes in the shaming business. If shame was such an effective tool, how come Issa still has a job?
