Connect-Inspire-Grow is excited to announce one of our Inspiring Chicagoans that will be honored at our 2 Year Anniversary of Networking Events! Please welcome and come meet Kellie Trumper : Celebrity Stylist & Founder of Lookstyle! About Kellie: After earning her degree in Art: Painting and Drawing from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and an advanced degree from the Art Institute of Chicago, Kellie Trumper realized her passion in fashion. Her styling career began 13 years ago at Neiman Marcus. This kicked off an 11 year stint of wowing retailers and designers at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Ave, Intermix and David Yurman. The turning point came during her career managing Intermix; Trumper began to notice a unique need for ‘concierge’ fashion styling. During her career in retail, Kellie worked overtime as she earned her Masters in Education. This training allowed Kellie to hone her voice and gave her the tools to educate her clients as well as to speak publicly on image and style matters. Kellie recalls that it was her clients who encouraged her to forge her own way. Following their good advice, Kellie founded Lookstyle, a luxury wardrobe-consulting firm, in early 2011. With clients in Chicago, Los Angeles, Michigan, Aspen, Florida, NYC - Kellie is always on the go, constantly scouting new trends on both coasts. Trumper is one of the recognized stylists in the Best of 2012 CS/Modern Luxury January Issue. She styles high profile athletes and celebrities nationwide. Trumper has been published in The Red Eye (Chicago Tribune) Cover story: From Runway to Chicago, she has a monthly column in VS Magazine, her interview with Rob Luce, Eliminating Excess Fashion, was featured in Monochrome Effect. Lookstyle has also been featured in Refinery 29, Glossed and Found, Chicago Shopping. Trumper is also committed to making sure that Lookstyle gives back. She has also played an impactful role working with charities, hosting a fundraiser benefitting Bright Pink which earned the attention of MSNBC, FOX, and NBC. She partnered again with Bright Pink, EBAY Giving Works and LeAnn Rimes to host an online auction raising money for the charity. She is currently working with Carlos Boozer, NBA Star of the Chicago Bulls, to help The Right to Play foundation. In addition to her work with celebrities; Kellie loves to focus on the every day person. “Fashion can be overwhelming and intimidating. It takes time and patience to weed though all the trends and figure out what will fit YOUR body, YOUR lifestyle, and YOUR budget.” She encourages every client to take time for themselves and rediscover their sense of style. Too often people get “stuck” in a past decade of fashion. Having a closet makeover helps them to edit, purge and uncover their wardrobe in an organized and calculated way. During this process, Trumper teaches clients how to sort out what to save and what to toss. “My goal is NEVER to start out by purchasing a new wardrobe each season, it is to re-purpose and re-define your most loved and flattering parts of your wardrobe. Getting dressed should be EASY”, says Trumper.
