Connecticut lawmakers reconvene next week, and are expected to focus on tightening the state’s domestic violence laws and on how to better help children who witness abuse. Legislators will have plenty to work with as they craft new legislation in the General Assembly session that begins Jan. 7. Various groups and politicians have been examining the issue since the last session and reviewing possible changes to the law. The legislative attention comes as statistics show 13 people — 12 women and one man — died in Connecticut from domestic violence in 2014, up from nine deaths in 2013. nhregister/general-news/20150101/connecticut-domestic-violence-laws-a-focus-in-new-session
