Conservatives TEND to respect the Bible and its authority as a physical representation of the desire and expectations of the Sovereign King of the Universe (a.k.a. God). Leftists (a.k.a. Liberals, Democrats, etc.) TEND to minimize, disregard, or hold it in disdain. This gives the Leftists a big advantage in a secular humanist dominated society like the United States has. Which is explained in: Isaiah 59:13-16 For our transgressions are multiplied before You, And our sins testify against us; For our transgressions are with us, And as for our iniquities, we know them: In transgressing and lying against the LORD, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. As our society makes lying and deceiving an integral part of life, the person whose conscience will not allow it is at a considerable disadvantage. This is the problem Conservatives face. Leftists have no problem lying, as we have seen Obama, Reid, Pelosi, NBC, CNN, etc. etc. etc... do with impunity. The public is not even concerned. There are no consequences. The truth often forces people to face hard consequences and so the public more and more tends to reject the truth because, for the most part, they can not or will not discern the truth from the lies, and the lies are far more attractive. So, a person who insists on revealing the truth is guilty by accusation of hate speech , racism, homophobia or some other vague subjective offense whose meaning is in complete control of those who use it as a club against their political and/or ideological rivals with no need to consider its validity. “When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.” -–Through the Looking Glass, Lewis Carroll
