"Consider the example of Jesus himself: His dear friend Lazarus had died. Jesus went to the corpse, knowing exactly what he was going to do. Jesus knew that he would bring him back to life. Jesus knew about the resurrection that would happen. Jesus is armed with perfect theology, and yet what do we see? The bible tells us that “Jesus wept.” (cf. Jn 11:35) Jesus knew that that all things work together for God’s good purposes. Jesus knew that Lazarus would be resurrected. And yet Jesus still wept. He faced tragedy and sadness with perfect honesty. His tears were honest tears. His tears did not mean he did not trust God. Our faith is not contradicted by our sadness—rather it shows our honesty."
