Considering sell or trade. Location New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 Rio is a beautiful, 7 year old grade Appaloosa gelding. He qualifies to be registered as an Appaloosa, however, I have not. I bought Rio 2 months ago as a green horse with 30 days training. I worked him every day for a month & he is now ridden 4 to 6 days a week for the last month. Not much phases this boy anymore. Ive trail ridden him and he loved every minuet. He does not get hot or overly excited about anything. He is very laid back and calm. I currently have him w/t/c. He takes someone that can push him to canter, however could be a walk/trot beginner horse. I gave lessons on him to a lady whod never been around horses and by the 3rd lesson she was trotting. He doesnt walk off if you know what youre doing, but will test anyone on him by pulling his head to one side, which luckily is such an easy fix by just pulling him back. He is ridden in a broken snaffle with a light hand. Backs and has a beautiful stop! I believe Rio would make someone a beautiful pleasure pony or 4-h project. He will pivot when on the ground and I recently started working with him to square up. He does not crowd when walking, stops when you stop walking & backs when you back, you do not even have to face him. Lunges on a line and off. Does not need spurs. Stands for clipping, farrier, bathing.
