Consistent with their kill all predators first, ask questions later philosophy, state wildlife managers last week killed six sea lions in the Columbia River for eating salmon. Before they were killed, these six marine mammals had been hot-branded like cattle for identification. Although they make an easy scapegoat for wildlife bureaucrats, sea lions account for only about one percent of all salmon loss on the Columbia, while fishermen account for 17 percent - and thats in addition to other human-caused mortality, like dams and nonnative fish predation. PLEASE TAKE ACTION: Use this link to ask Governor John Kitzhaber to STOP KILLING SEA LIONS.
