Construction underway on US Highway 23 near New Town Construction is underway on US Highway 23 five miles west of New Town. This project consists of paving work and shoulder widening. During this period: · Speeds will be reduced · A 12-foot width restriction will be in place · Traffic will be head to head at times · Flaggers will be used · Drivers should expect minor delays when traffic is reduced to one lane · Drivers should be aware of shoulder drop-offs Work is to be completed in August. Help prevent work zone crashes. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, allow extra distance between their vehicles and the vehicle in front of them, use caution and obey flaggers and posted signs.
